How to Turn your Child’s Art into Home Décor

0 191

Children love to doodle. They can even use your walls as the canvas! If they have drawings on paper, you can use them to decorate your home. Below, we will give you some tips on how to incorporate it into your home décor to show off the drawing skills of your little ones.

Print on Canvas

One of the easiest ways to turn their drawings into a décor is to have them printed on canvas. Shutterfly is just one of the many companies that can do it for you. After being printed, you can hang it on the wall and make it a lasting memory of their childhood.

Check out shutterfly.com/home-decor/canvas-prints for some ideas on how their artwork will look like when they are printed on canvas.

Turn it Into Magnets

You can also turn their scribbles into magnets. What’s even better is that you can use these magnets to display their artwork on paper, such as on the fridge. It takes quite some work to make your own magnet using polymer clay, but it will be worth it! You can make the base first and ask kids to doodle on it using acrylic craft paint.

Hang Clipboards

This is an idea that will work best if you want the display to be constantly changing. Cut out small pieces of corkboard in square or rectangle. Hang it on the wall. Place a clip on the top or you can also use pins. Once they have new artwork, all that you have to do is to have it clipped or pinned to the board.

Frame Them

This is another common way of displaying kids’ artwork. You can create a picture-perfect gallery wall with frames housing their drawings. Rather than displaying only one, show them off in groups to add life to your walls. Keep the frame simple. This way, the focus will be on the artwork and not on the frame.

Alternatively, you can also make your own frame. For instance, you can build a wooden frame and string yarn across the frame. You can clip their artwork in the string if you want to have a changing display of your kid’s art.

Turn them into Pillows

Kids will love personalized pillows, especially if it is printed with artwork they created themselves. These pillows do not necessarily have to end up in the bedroom. You can print them in square pillows and use them as accent pieces on the couch.

Make a Book

To turn children’s art into décor, you might also want to have them transformed into a book. Start by collecting their doodles. Once you have enough, have them printed in a book and display this book in the living room. Alternatively, you can choose to have a book with blank pages and allow kids to draw on it.

Do not hide the artwork of your little Picasso! Display it at home and incorporate it into your home décor by following the creative ideas that have been briefly mentioned above.
